Meet Judge David Brannon
DAVID BRANNON is a lifelong resident of Montgomery County, Ohio. He graduated from Centerville High School in 1998 and Miami University in 2002 with undergraduate degrees in public administration and political science. He earned his J.D. from the University of Dayton School of Law and was admitted to the Ohio Bar in 2005.
After taking office, Judge Brannon’s leadership team devised a five-year Strategic Plan, executing it over his first term, focusing on addressing the mental health crisis, increasing user access to the Court, and improving technology (efile and case management).
Judge Brannon’s Court won the 2023 Innovative Court Program and Practice Award from the Ohio State Bar Association’s Justice Administration and Innovation Committee when his Court implemented a legal resource center which provides the community with a full-time attorney to advise patrons at the Court.
He also started an Assisted Outpatient Treatment (AOT) program to address the lack of hospital beds for those suffering from mental illness and under civil commitment. The Court’s goal is to have over 100 patients suffering serious mental illness in the AOT program by the end of 2026.

He and his wife, Jill, reside in Centerville with their three daughters, Kate, Brooke and Charlotte.
